Chromecast with Google TV is one of the leading streaming devices used along with Firestick and Roku. Google TV streams content from various apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime, SlingTV, and many more. You can access all kinds of streaming services on Google TV by downloading their applications in it. Despite having so many advantages in it, we face some errors due to certain errors. In those situations, you need to restart the Google TV device to fix them immediately.

Restarting the device is an effective method to fix the basic issues. There are two ways to restart the Google TV. We will discuss those methods in this tutorial.
- Restart Using Device Settings
- Force Restart Google TV
Restart Google TV Using Device Settings
Use this method when you find trouble with loading content on any streaming app.
Step1: On the home screen, navigate to the Profile icon on the top-right corner.
Step2: Select the Settings option from the menu.

Step3: Scroll down to the System option and choose it.

Step4: Now, scroll down to and choose the Restart option from the list.

Step5: Then, you can see a warning asking if you want to restart the device. Click on the Restart option.
Step6: Within one or two minutes, then restart process will be completed.
Step7: Once the process is completed, the Google TV home screen will appear automatically.
Force Restart Google TV
Try this method when you aren’t able to navigate to the device settings or when you had frozen Google TV screen.
- Unplug the Google TV from the HDMI port of your TV.
- On the other hand, disconnect the device from the power source.
- Turn off your TV and turn it on after few minutes.
- Now, connect your Google TV back to the power source and the HDMI end to the TV.
- Choose the proper input source on your TV and then use the Google TV without any issues.
If the restart hasn’t fixed the issue, you have to reset your Google TV. Once you reset the device, it goes back to the condition when you first bought Google TV. Also, resetting is an advanced troubleshooting method.
